你们好!

I am very happy to see you agan! I certainly miss all of you while I am away. You substitue teacher told me that you did great. Thank you!

Here is what we did and what you should review before next class:
1. We learned the first part of Text on Page 36 and 37. Please make sure you can remember the new vocabulary and conversations. We shall review it together during next class.
2. Please write out the new words on the printout that I gave to you. You shall bring it back to me next time.
3. Please start preparing your ChinesePod lesson. We will do start one more round again.

Zai Jian

Hi, I am leaving tomorrow moring and I am sure I will miss you all. Here are somethings I want you to do while I am gone:

1. Make sure that you practice vocabularies of Lesson 3. You did well during class, I want to see you putting some efforts after the class.

2. Student podcasting teaching will be Anna for tomorrow. Next, I have Jon to start a new round.

3. Please make sure that you listen to the CD of the Textbook as well as the Workbook as we are making progress.

Oct. 16, 2008. Thursday

Class summary:

1. During class, we spent time creating a dialogue between "you" and a famous Chinese celebrity of your choice. The main purpose of this project to get you familiarized with Chinese greetings, asking questions and giving answers. It is an great alternative to a less engaging drilling practice.

2. Our student teacher Phoebe did a lesson from Chinesepod on "pretty ugly" . Great job!

Homework:
Today: I have corrected your in-class project and returned via email to each one of you. Please go over it and put correct name( may be in Pin Yin if you are not sure about the person's Chinese name in character)for your celebrity friend.

Tomorrow: If you haven't done so, please read Textbook 20-23. Then do the listening practice on CD for workbook 3,4,5.

1. Chinesepod casting and student teaching.
2. Review Lesson 2 with excercise on page 18-19 of the textbook.

Homework:
1. Workbook Lesson 2, Question 3, 4, 5 on page 7. This is a listening and pronounciation practice.
2. Read textbook page 20-23 for grammar and basic Chinese character writing.
